Last night, I attended the Y.E.S! Vancouver event at Goldfish Pacific Kitchen entitled: Fresh Start for Fall: Building Your Personal Brand Online. The guest speaker was Megan Halkett, the Owner of Patio Social, a communications and social media firm. She had some really great tips on how to improve your online presence!

I always love going to the Y.E.S! minglers because they are fun, fresh and 'networking with a cause', as 100% of money raised through Y.E.S!  goes directly to Dress for Success Vancouver. On the weekend I had the opportunity to work with Kwasi Thomas, a local actor and comedian. We were so glad that Mother Nature cooperated with the photoshoot since she definitely didn't the last time we tried to do this! The plan was to get some serious headshots, but we ended up laughing...a lot! Thanks for the fun day, Kwasi, and for making me laugh. Laughter is good for the soul.

There is something about being in Ucluelet and Tofino that makes you feel instantly relaxed, which is just what Dale (my husband) and I needed after a crazy stretch of work. The beaches, the rainforest and the ocean air made it really hard to come back to 'real' life!

We had a wonderful time at the Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet (thanks Groupon!), and traveling between Ucluelet and Tofino, checking out the trails and beaches along the way. Below are just a few of the memories we captured.

I know the last thing the world needs is yet another blog, but I really wanted to have a way to talk about the places I'll go and the people I'll meet on my photography journey (this is starting to sound like a Dr. Seuss book!). I'll do my best to try and keep this interesting and not just sound like 'blog la blah'!

I'm off to Ucluelet tomorrow. I'm looking forward to some time with my hubby, some r&r, and some great photo ops. Stay tuned!
